Alison Berke Morano
Workshop: Becoming a Delegate for the DNC Convention
Alison has been working with the Florida Democratic Party since 2006. Her first position was serving as Chair of the Pasco County DEC and in 2009, she was elected Chairwoman of the Florida Democratic County Chairs Association. In 2011, Alison was appointed as a Vice Chair of the Florida Democratic Party. She now oversees the Party’s State Legislative Committee, of which she is again the Chair. This election cycle, Alison is coordinating our statewide Vote by Mail registration program and is also part of the 2012 National Delegate Selection oversight committee. Her insight to into the FDP’s delegate selection process makes her the perfect person for this workshop.
Carey Jeremiason

Carey Jeremiason is the Florida Digital Director for President Obama’s re-election campaign. In 2010 he served as new media director for the winning campaign of U.S. Senator Michael Bennet in Colorado. Do you think you will eventually run for public office? Then you don’t want to miss hearing from Ellis Robinson, Executive Director for Ruth’s List Florida. Ruth’s List is our state’s organization whose goal it is to field pro-choice Democratic women as candidates. Because of this, Ellis will be able to provide our members with insight on how to prepare for our own races- whether we plan to run this year, two years from now or ten years from now.

Workshop: Membership Recruitment & Leadership Development
Having served as the FCD’s Director of Membership for the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 academic years, Erin and Kelly respectively have unique perspectives on what has helped grow many of our chapters, what makes for sustainable leadership, and what chapters can expect- whether they are just starting up or come from well-established organizations. This workshop will consist of a brief presentation followed by questions and answers for the second half of the time allocated.
Mallory Wells
Workshop: Lobbying Your Legislator
As Equality Florida’s Public Policy Director Mallory oversees federal, state and local legislative programs. Her responsibilities include drafting and tracking legislation, overseeing Equality Florida’s candidate endorsement process, empowering LGBT Floridians to talk to their legislators and other miscellaneous legislative responsibilities. In addition, she is on the board of the Alachua County Young Democrats and has served on the national Young People 4 steering committee, where she received an award for Youth Mobilization. Mallory has also been named one of the “Top 25 Leaders under 25″ by Watermark.
Sabrina Caprioli
Workshop: Working with Traditional Media
Sabrina Caprioli is an OFA-Florida Press Assistant, working to highlight how President Obama is fighting for middle class families and how his Administration’s leadership has helped move Florida forward. Before coming to Florida, Sabrina worked with Organizing for America-Arizona, the grassroots effort to support the President’s policies. Prior to this, she served as an intern for the Democratic National Committee and as a volunteer with Brooklyn for Barack in 2008. She attended the City University of New York-Hunter College where she graduated as a Thomas Hunter Honors Scholar. Born in Argentina, Sabrina immigrated with her family to the United States in 1994.
